This image illustrates the chapter "Father Nigh" in
the boo, A Blue Moon in August. The story is
about a new father waking up in the night, dealing
with a disturbance outside, feeding a bottle to his
new baby, and thinking about his own father and
mother. The right side is a flow chart of the main
associational connections in the story. The left
side is a collage of several images from the story
and illustrations of the concept of the story. Thus
we have juxtaposed side by side the dream and the
abstraction of a verbal art. The story is written
in the "bookmovie", a highly readable movie script
format (invented by Kerouac and perfected by
Burroughs).
